Affiliate Organizations

What is a LifeCourse Nexus Affiliate?

LifeCourse Nexus Affiliates are organizations and systems who are interested in enhancing person- and family-centered policies, practices, and organizational culture through the lens of the Charting the LifeCourse framework.  The following highlights the current affiliate levels and benefits of affiliation:

  • LifeCourse Affiliate for Program Implementation: organizations that successfully CtLC completedprogram implementation training and technical activities and are able to demonstrate how CtLC has been integrated into program-specific procedures, training and professional development requirements,delivery of service and quality outcomes/assurance
  • LifeCourse Affiliate of Distinction: organizations that have successfully implemented CtLC in at least one program area and successfully completed CtLC leadership training and technical assistance activities and are able to demonstrate aligning CtLC in its organizational culture, strategy, operations,technology, communication, human resources, and engagement
  • LifeCourse Affiliate for State System: state systems that successfully completed CtLC systems-focused training and technical assistance activities and are able to demonstrate how CtLC has been implemented or aligned with the culture, leadership, policies, training, engagement strategies and quality outcome/assurance activities.

Who should become an Affiliate?

LifeCourse Nexus Affiliates are committed to enhancing outcomes for:

  • People and their families to reframe their understanding and expectations in order to plan, problem-solve, navigate, and advocate for integrated supports that lead to quality of life.
  • Staff and professionals to use person and family centered practices for reframing conversations, problem-solving and planning to support individuals and their families to have a “good life.”
  • Organizational cultural change at every level by using the Charting the LifeCourse framework for strategic thinking and planning, training and coaching staff, driving policy change, and engaging with stakeholders

How to Become an Affiliate?

Organizations become an Affiliate by entering a Strategic Integration Agreement that defines the specific training and technical assistance activities provided by the LifeCourse Nexus, which include:

  • Creation and coaching of an Organizational Implementation Team made up of organizational leadership to establish a vision and related action plan for specific enhancement and integration objective
  • Training provided by the LifeCourse Nexus team to people supported, families, staff, and stakeholders to introduce the principles of CtLC and related tools
  • Certification of staff and practitioners as CtLC Ambassadors to build capacity for specific implementation and integration of the principles, sharing the CtLC framework with other stakeholders, and ensure sustainability of integration and implementation

What are the Benefits of Being an Active LifeCourse Affiliate?

  • Publicly identify as a LifeCourse Nexus Affiliate on organizational websites, marketing materials, reports, and responses to proposals, etc. via Affiliate icon and language
  • Access to Affiliate-only announcements, materials, and opportunities provided by the LifeCourse Nexus National team
  • Opportunities for CtLC research and development partnerships for supporting evidence-based practices, product development, evaluation, and quality assurance 
  • Recognition of the organization’s affiliate level on the LifeCourse Nexus website and materials, such as social media, newsletters, etc.
  • Are eligible for a new trainer process to become a LifeCourse Fundamental Trainer and begin the pathway to becoming a LifeCourse Trainer of Distinction.
