How can LifeCourse Help My Organization?

The Charting the LifeCourse framework helps organizations to assess, enhance, develop, and evaluate policies, practices and procedures to ensure person and family centered supports that lead to good lives. The CtLC principles and tools can be integrated into existing processes with individuals, families, and staff, and can also be used for supporting organizational strategic thinking and planning.

  • Staff are educating and problem-solving using LifeCourse with the people they support.
  • Supervisors are leading meetings using the tools to unite the team around common goals
  • Quality Assurance Departments are aligning data, outcomes, and reports using the key principles.
  • Training Coordinators are embedding LifeCourse into training materials and workshops.

Introduce Staff and Stakeholders

  • Invite a LifeCourse Nexus Team Member to speak at your event or conference
    • Keynote or plenary presentation with customizable content integrating the Charting the LifeCourse key principles, concepts, and practices with the conference or event theme (length, target audience, size, and specific objectives determined by an organization)
       
  • Host a LifeCourse Training Workshop (In-Person or Online)
    • Workshops include both foundational understanding of the framework, as well as hands-on practice using the CtLC tools to enhance a particular skill set or practice. 
    • The LifeCourse Nexus team is available to individualize training to meet any target audience needs, such as the size of the group, audience type (self-advocate, family, professional), or specific area of focus (employment, person-centered planning, aging, family navigation, early childhood, policy or community change, etc.).
  • Register 2-3 staff for an Ambassador Series for Open Enrollment for their professional development

Implement into Organizational Practice

  • Access technical assistance or process consulting for review or recommendations regarding the development, implementation, or evaluation of person- and family-centered products or processes
  • Host an Ambassador Series for your organization, building the capacity of staff to integrate CtLC into policy, practice, and procedure
  • Develop and implement a Foundational LifeCourse Implementation Package with key activities facilitated by the LifeCourse Nexus to support ongoing capacity building and implementation support 
  • Connect with other LifeCourse Affiliates in your local area to learn how they are using the CtLC framework

Integrate into Organizational Culture

  • Explore and develop an implementation plan through strategic facilitation
    • LifeCourse Nexus team members use the CtLC framework and strategic thinking tools to facilitate leadership teams, advisory groups, board members, and/or other stakeholders in organizational assessment and strategic plan development
    • Strategic facilitation often includes action planning for the integration of the CtLC framework into organizational practices and existing operational priorities
