Julie is the newest member of the LifeCourse Nexus team and comes from Indiana where she was most recently the Director of Strategic Initiatives for their Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services where she was also the Community of Practice for Supporting Families Facilitator for Indiana.  Julie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Hanover College and a Master’s Degree in Political Science from  Miami University of Ohio. Julie began her career working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a sheltered workshop setting. She then moved to work in Indiana’s First Steps Early Intervention system working with families and other stakeholders to modernize and open up the system to more infants/toddlers and their families. During her seventeen years working with individuals and families Julie also led and supported several initiatives to improve and modernize information technology systems. This led to a four-year hiatus working for a large information technology company on Indiana’s Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).  Julie then returned to where she belonged and has worked as an agency program director for a large agency serving individuals with I/DD prior to working for the State of Indiana. Julie just relocated to Prairie Village, Kansas from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Julie’s good life includes playing with her very cute dog, her two brand new puppies, and two very ill-behaved cats. She also loves reading and watching sports.
